Abstract

The rule "La Darar wa La Dirar" is a fundamental principle in Islamic jurisprudence that prohibits causing harm to others. This study explores the interpretation of this rule within Islamic law and its application to environmental issues. Initially, the jurisprudential and historical foundations of this principle are analyzed, followed by an examination of its relevance to contemporary environmental challenges, such as air pollution, deforestation, and climate change. The findings indicate that the rule "La Darar" not only aligns with Islamic principles of environmental protection but also serves as an effective tool for formulating environmental policies. The study also addresses practical challenges in implementing this rule in Islamic societies and provides recommendations for enhancing environmental policymaking.
