Abstract

The impact of social media and public opinion pressure on criminal policy is an important and complex issue in the field of legal studies and criminology. In the digital age, social media acts as a powerful tool in shaping public opinion and influencing government policies and decisions regarding violent crime. This phenomenon not only increases public awareness of the occurrence of violent crime, but can also exert significant social and political pressure on judicial and government officials to respond more quickly in this regard. The present study examines how social media and public opinion influence criminal policy and judicial decision-making in dealing with violent crime and analyzes the effects of these interactions on changes in criminal laws and strategies. Finally, the results of the study show that sometimes the pressures resulting from rapid reactions of public opinion may lead to hasty and unprofessional criminal decisions, which in turn can create new problems in the criminal justice process. Therefore, the present study emphasizes the need to create a balance between rapid responses to social pressures and maintaining legal principles in the face of violent crimes.
